Keeping your roof in excellent condition is key to keeping your business running smoothly—you don’t want to have to close down for weeks at a time to have your roof replaced. But even if you’re careful to keep up with maintenance, as time goes on, your roof will start to show signs of wear and tear. If the damage isn’t extensive, commercial re-roofing can be a great way to get your roof back into good shape, without even having to close your doors for a day.

Re-Roofing vs. Roof Replacement

Although the terms sound almost identical, commercial re-roofing is a different process from roof replacement. While roof replacement means a complete removal of the old roof, starting over from scratch, commercial re-roofing is a better fit for roofs that still have some life left in them, but are requiring more frequent repairs than can be justified by the cost.

Commercial re-roofing is a faster, less expensive approach to giving your roof a new lease on life. While roof replacement requires you to close your business down as the original roof is removed, commercial re-roofing may not require you to pause your business activities at all, as the original roof is not removed. Some damaged sections of the roof may be replaced, but commercial re-roofing often means adding a new layer to the existing structure, rather than removing it entirely, saving you time and money.
