TPO RoofingPros

  • Heat-Reflective – TPO roofing materials are resistant to ultraviolet rays, meaning less heat build-up in your commercial building. This type of roofing is available in different colors that are heat-reflective, including black.
  • Energy-Efficient – Because the system is heat-reflective, your building can see reduced cooling costs.
  • Affordable – TPO is considered economical. It is more affordable than PVC and EPDM systems.
  • Strong – TPO is a flexible membrane that is resistant to high-impact punctures and tears.
  • Recyclable – TPO is 100% recyclable. It is made without chlorine, unlike some other roofing materials.

Cons

  • Newer Product – Since TPO is one of the newest roofing types, there are reported complications that are not seen in other roofing materials.  New TPO formulas are continually being introduced, meaning your roof may not be the most up-to-date and effective roof in a couple of years.
  • Lifespan – TPO roofing tends to require more maintenance than other types of commercial roofing materials.
  • Inconsistent – Many manufacturers provide different quality levels of TPO, meaning not all TPO is the same.  Some are higher-quality, newer formulas, while others are not as high of quality. This means you must be selective in choosing your provider.
